Well we are back from our holidays and trying to get back into the nice little routine I had got the newborn into. I guess she's not so newborn anymore being 14 weeks old now. People look into my pram when I am standing at supermarket checkouts and gawp at what a 'big baby' she is. This week I have been nursing my wounds after stupidly taking two small children (mine) to Edinburgh Zoo in a double buggy. The problem with this outing (which on the surface sounds like a fun-filled family day out) were tri-fold:

The husband told the toddler yesterday that her new baby sister thought she was the best big sister in the world. The toddler thought for a second and then with a perplexed look on her face replied "You a silly sausage, Daddy...she can't speak. She a baby. She got no teeth, silly man." This week at Scotmum HQ we have been revelling in the fact that we seem to have acquired a newborn that sleeps through the night! I am still on a very steep learning curve when it comes to being a professional mummy of two. This week the toddler has developed a-not-so-endearing habit of repeating every thing I say, which makes me realise that I need to be very careful WHAT I actually say. So I did it! I am now a mum of 2 little girls. My house now perpetually smells of nappies and I have an aura of milky sick as opposed to my usual Chanel perfume. I have been a bit silly this week. Since I am not a monstrous pregnant woman of gargantuan proportions, I sometimes forget how far gone I actually am. This week I have been slowly coming to terms with the fact that baby number 2 will be here in a matter of weeks. 7 to be precise, or 28 days. Another week, another yard gained around my waist and at least 8 lbs heavier. So this is the second installment in the 'Lessons in Motherhood' series of blogs. It certainly has been an eventful week in the Scotmum household which began all twee with me starting to sew a cot blanket for our April arrival and ended in a panicked early morning car journey to the Sick Kids hospital.
